Many centuries coexist in Beijing (“Jing” for short), the capital city of the People's Republic of China.
Among the most populous cities in the world, Beijing embraces 17,000 square kilometers and is home to more than 12 million people. The city played host to the 29th Olympic Games in 2008.
7309 historical sites and 200 other attractions await your presence in Beijing. A short selection:
  • The largest imperial palace in the world
  • The Palace Museum
  • The Temple of Heaven where ancient emperors prayed for peace and prosperity
  • The Summer Palace
  • The Imperial Garden
  • The Great Wall at Badaling, Mutianyu and Simatai
  • Prince Gong’s residence, the largest quadrangle in the world
  • The Olympic arenas
How much time should you spend in Beijing? At least a week, if you can’t find more time.
